Week 92
Amarillo, TX
Here's the run down.
We taught a BUNCH of lessons this week. And knocked a ton too. Probably the most successful week here.
TUESDAY: Exchanges. We did splits with the Spanish elders here in the city. We had a good day and taught like 7 lessons. We had appointments back to back allll day. And our AC was broken, so we contacted the office and slept in our 83 degree apartment.
Wednesday: Finished exchanges, helped a member move, and had a bunch of appointments punch on us. We were doing some knocking up on the second floor of an apartment complex, and a man opened the door and started talking to us. My comp reached out his hand to shake hands, and as he did, he accidentally dropped his scriptures and pamphlets off of the two story ledge lol. The guy at the door thought it was hilarious and he invited us back. Went home, and slept in our 82 degree apartment.
THURSDAY. #BikeDay. We did service at the botanical gardens and helped transport compost... for two hours. Ate lunch with the Spanish Elders and taught some lessons.
FRIDAY. WEEKLY PLANNING. Our weekly planning session took about two hours, then we got a call to go give a blessing at the hospital, and then we taught a few lessons. That night we had a church tour with an investigator with Anthony. He's probably our most progressing investigator. He's super logical and thinks really really deep, so we're always on our toes. He loved the church tour, and we'll be teaching him again soon. That night, we received calls from all of our district leaders to get a report on the missionaries in our zone.
Saturday. Had correlation, and then taught 7 lessons. We're teaching lots of recent converts and part member families. None are progressing though, so I'll name drop when they start keeping commitments. Saturday night we called the assistants and reported on how our zone is doing.
SUNDAY. Great day. We got to church and realized that one of the ladies there was a less active lady who we had been trying to contact for about a month. We tried talking to her, but the service began before we could. Anyway, she ended up getting up and sharing her testimony! She got up and said that she knew she needed to come to church today, because her pastor had been telling her that Jesus is knocking on her door, and then the missionaries (us) came and knocked on her door a bunch of times. She said that she kept ignoring us, and apologized over the pulpit, and then said that she was happy to be back. We plan an teaching her and her kids tomorrow.
Monday (Today). We gathered up 18 missionaries from the zone and went to Palo Duro, the 2nd largest canyon in the country. We mountain biked a few trails, and then hiked up to lighthouse rock, and then biked a few more trails. I am WIPED. Then we hauled a bunch of missionaries back in our mini van. Good times.
Things are good, I'm happy, and scared to go home! Love y'all!!
